listening to: The Kansas City Standard

Yesterday we went to Abeline on a day trip. We went because a new furniture store opened there and sent us a flyer. We weren't impressed. Their prices were higher than anywhere we've looked.
Then we went to the Telephone museum. I've wanted to go there ever since we moved to Salina two years ago. I really enjoyed it. There was a was a display set up with two dial phones and old mechanical-electric switches set up behind glass so you could watch them dial. When you dialed 6, for instance, you could actually see the switch ratchet up six notches and open the circut to the next switch, awaiting the next number. Lots of old telephones to see and interactive displays.
When we came back into town, we went to the pound. There was a little cairn terrier that we might have taken home right then, but (smiling) they had made contact with the true owner.

We called a breeder in a local town inquiring about a dog, we will meet her today at noon to see a pup, but he is only 4 weeks old and the breeder has to keep him until he is 8 weeks old.
