Listening to: David Bowie
Yesterday was a very busy day. All fun. Salina had SantaFe Days and we got up for the Pancake breakfast. The parade was good. After that we walked around and saw some interesting things, a guy was making brooms from scratch, some guys were making furniture from elk and moose antlers. Then was the chili cookoff contest. - Each table would give you a "grocery store" sized sample of their chili. There were 14 contestants - Some were too hot to handle, others were great chili. The one I voted for had Deer, Pork and Turtle meat in it - it was sweet at first and then the hot creeped up on you after you swallowed. It wasn't so hot that you were afraid to take another bite though. Then I had some fried alligator.
Before we even went home, my wife got the idea that we should go to the Cosmosphere in Hutch to help her with a school project. So we did. I really enjoyed that.
And today, we worked in the yard. Used a roto-tiller to prepare it for grass seed. Last week I killed all the weeds with some special poison and now we are ready to seed.
