Emerald City Application

We have no art, everything we do here is art.

I am interested in making all kinds of art.  I am working towards a graphic design degree and visual communications is what I do best. I also love teaching. We can teach anything we know. Opening up someone's world to making art or making music has been the only thing I've found that really does it for me. Max Ernst and Man Ray brought me here.  Sir Francis Bacon, Sir Issac Newton and Tesla brought me here, by way of Pink Floyd's prismatic album art and the running rhythm of the beat poets.

I like kinetic sculpture like the mobiles and machines made by Alexander Calder. I like art that captures some kind of energy and then uses it to move or make music.  Musical vibrations, like the sacred recordings of Coletrane brought me here, The burst of emotional angst from Mile's trumpet brought me here. The actual shape of things to come was created first in music, so many years and years ago. I want to have a studio where I and others can paint. I prefer not to paint and make art alone. I want to organize large mural painting projects, to create things together is what I want to bring to Emerald City. It's a free art school modeled on pure education. I want to laugh more often, life is funny. I want us to make music more often. I see that people who are most willing to devote their lives to make the world a better place for others are often the ones who struggle getting the rewards that others enjoy. I want to change that for everyone.

Right now we are not rewarded for original thinking.  We are actually told, "you shouldn't begin that because no one is that capable." People like me are sometimes discouraged from fulfilling our dreams, asked to put aside the things we know we can change to make things better for everyone, We've had to sacrifice this (our very selves) to fit in with organized society and make money and attract people. The monetary system isn't failing now, it failed when this countries' factories closed, reopened as sweatshops in other parts of the world, and the system made it impossible to buy housing and transportation without using debt. That's gen-x angst that didn't and probably isn't going away. Unless.

My philosophy is one of a holographic universe.  when I was about 15, someone introduced me to two concepts. Taoism and the Butterfly Effect. My mind has been effectively blown and energized with electric harmony fire since then. I know that everything that we can dream is possible and as free people in this universe, we MUST make it happen. We can manifest life close to perfection for ourselves. It is our duty to ourselves to chase our dreams. That is my philosophy.

I was taken out away from the city lights to see Halley's Comet when I was a small child. I have always looked at this as a giant spaceship hurling through space in a huge circle around a power plant. The "just right goldilocks" balance that supports life on this planet amazes me. Not to mention, its swirling molten iron core that makes our spaceship sit inside a stable magnetic and radiation forcefield to protect us from rocks and our sun's excessive flares. How did this happen; how could we be so lucky?

There has been recent talk about humanity's jump from a type zero to a type one planetary people. What that means is that we have harnessed the energy of the sun and particles and will no longer be burning the planet herself for our kinetic output. When that happens, we are supposed to stop having a reason to have wars and have starving people. We are very very far from that goal, but moving closer.

How Plants Work
When we harness the energy of the sun, our solar system's giant built-in convenient central powerplant, it will alleviate suffering on this planet. I'm not kidding. There will be no more wars over our planetary resources, because the solar resource is evenly distributed around all fences and borders, which would soon disappear as well. When people are no longer bound to a money system in order to have comfortable temperatures, food, clean water, housing, transportation, and entertainment, there will be no more reason to have most of our stresses and personal arguments with other people. The only thing we will need to worry about is maintaining and improving our ability to harvest sunlight, water and wind movement. If your needs are met, good food, good drink, and other happy people around; needs truly met to make you happy, what else will we need? We will be free to follow our bliss, and we only have an inkling of an idea what that even means. It will be like Prometheus stealing hotter better fire.

Everything in my life has intentionally led me to this point, where I am. There are no accidents, the journey that we are on is pure and true. There have been specific signs and symbols that I saw and followed to get to Emerald City.

Emerald City is soon going to have permanent custom made artisan trashbins on the corners with a spot for plastic/glass/aluminum separate. Emerald City is soon going to have a sculpture garden with stone monuments, labyrinths, and self-sustaining demonstration machines to show that matter is energy, how energy is never lost, but can be transformed and captured for things we use. There will be a community botanical garden with an emphasis on education about the plants and what they are used for. Plants have done the sun/powerplant thing already.

We have failed in our active education of our children about this fantastic planet, solar system and universe we find ourselves in for way too long - why? because we have been chasing money - because everything is so expensive - because the distribution of our resources are falsely controlled - and they are currently designed on purpose to break or wear out - why? because that allows for greater profits. I believe that it is possible to live our lives without supporting these companies who engage in this behavior. In order to vote with our wallets in some of these cases, we have to make our own way, create our own alternative to the norm.  This is what I feel is my main purpose in Emerald City.

what I remember most about my trip to the East was their phenomenal land use.  No inch of fertile soil was wasted. There was food growing everywhere, with the exception of downtown Seoul.  Living in a literal garden that has only verbal boundaries of permission, help and courteous exchange is what we are meant to do. We were not meant to live like modern american people do. We are meant to be able to feed, clothe and shelter everyone with plenty of clean water for everyone. Nothing else really matters to me.

Everything we need is available. We can make simple machines that are going to collect electricity from spinning kinetic movement of children playing on playground toys while their parents are riding stationary bicycles hooked to generators. We will have windmills that charge lights, pumps and other electronic systems, we will have solar panels that collect power for sound systems, light systems, and other things we can use. NASA isn't using chemical-based batteries, they are using high-speed, well designed flywheels that store kinetic energy that came from the sun and generate electricity as needed. We can do this on earth, and it will help to make us free and will allow us to alleviate suffering.

Modern theoretical physics is recently confirming ancient spiritual and hermetic (Emerald Tablet) teachings about the structure of our universe. "As it is above so it is below"; as it is on the macrocosmic level, so it is on the microcosmic level. We are now finding that these ancient writings of Thoth are supported by advanced subatomic particle observation experiments.  "We make the universe by what we want, what we believe and what we can do." Here's the surprise secret you should be in on. Our understanding of our own bodies, and medical science, what we are made of and how we work is going to be the greatest achievement to come out of the supercollider experiments.

Our understanding of how things work in this conscious experience is really about to change, we live in exciting times. We are on the verge of a mass consciousness  critical mass. A critical mass where more and more people understand everyday through personal experience that we are all one, and that if any of us is experiencing suffering and pain, and mistreatment, than we are all responsible for letting it happen. The rest of this century is going to be very very good and it starts here. Everyone is my brother or sister. If my brother doesn't have what he needs that day, its the same as me not having it.  The change from a duality, the difference between you and me; yours and mine, to a singularity - We are all one, on one planet. That's what I'd like to have someday. We can do it by working tougher in harnessing the power of the sun and the weather and water movements of our planet, Mother Earth.
