It's plants.
I have some large plans. I have huge plans. As I bundle up in a little den, save some nutz and prepare for the cold, I am also prepared to dream big. This time there is no giving up, every decision is made by me, as a being who can now walk the planet without fear and fly above the canopy looking for interesting points. I have a plan that what I will do with my meager resources is pure and true, full of explosive potential that I gift to you. It has some bright colors, funky beats, the kickin'est breaks, it's sure to please and impose a delving deep within where you will see - a one that buzzes a vibe warm orange and yellow.
My first plan is to obtain a place where I can make a permagarden, and begin collecting seeds to start in a greenhouse we will build. The mounds and plants planned out for ultimate watering systems and water collection systems to maintain and sustain.
Sunlight PV and thermal collection, Biogas collection, a complex compost system that uses worms towards the end, and Pyola for the soil.
I will begin by building a grotto and then a dome-frame. The greenhouse will come off of this central structure using some lightweight pvc arches and plastic sheeting. The grotto can serve a small fire to heat it on the coldest early spring nights. Most of the construction of this type of thing is earth moving and shaping, when that is done properly, the whole thing works off of gravity, with just a few hand pumps hooked up for show and demonstration.
And beekeeping (yellowbuzz) - what could be more important than making sure that there are plenty of bee plants around to attract, and to keep the bees in the area? Bathouses - if there are bats in an ecosystem, you can be sure of the balance between the birds and bats and the insects and bees. The whole thing works together quite nicely without our intervention, imagine what happens when we just give it a tiny little push in the right direction.
Gardening is not so much composing an imposing operatic work for a 300 piece symphony, but laying out the form and structure of the jam for the plants, bugs and birds to improvise on like a group of grizzled avant garde jazz masters who have seen the fire within and converted to Islam, but they don't change their name because of name recognition and the saxophone career.
growing these plants, preparing to keep them all winter (pickling cucumbers and peppers) drying them, keeping yams in cold cellar areas.
Some strange things I want to grow here (and why) Bamboo, pond, water plants (fish) for cleanliness,
Sweet Potatoes, small potatoes. fingerling.
And some normal things:
Sunflowers, melons, peppers, berries, cucumbers, squash, lettuce, carrots, radishes, celery, sugar ann snap pea, greens, cabbage,
And the section for herbal medicine plants, echinachia, dandilion, some and really most of them native to the area. After one year, we can get things going for fruit trees, grapes, and more berries.
Legacy seeds. I think that more important that teaching people how to get off the grid, is ensuring that we have legacy non-monsanto and non-seminis seeds. There are plenty of organic seed suppliers out there - OUT THERE, but there may not be any that is close to home. I will change that this winter. A large amount of money needs to be spent making sure that plants are started from good seed. This is important for us. I will be the plant man here. I've said that nothing is more important to me than plants, birds, bats, bees and other insects.
It may be a strange low gnostic chant subsonic vibration from saturn or jupiter, but I feel that it is more important to our short-term survival than anything else on this planet. Put everything else on hold.
Put everything else on hold.
The Stardust Gardens (billion year old carbon) will produce candles, honey, soap, dried veggie mixes for spice and flavor, soups, essential oils, dried fruits, seeds and all the vegetables you can eat. The research and development involved in building the facility will be all open sourced and the entire theme of the place is to find out about this information, how it can be done, how it is done the best and what abundance this planet has for those who set up their lives to find it.
